[Eating Tapua]--賽爾維亞藝術家眼中的我的經驗

[Eating Tapua],3x4meter-canvas, ink on canvas

Dear Yitzy,

About the drawing "Eating Tapua"..

"Tapua" is polynesian word both for menstruation and taboo..

I was thinking about a lot of things when I was building my idea for this drawing..

But, for me, your story was more than beautiful, and extraordinary..
I liked a lot all symbolism and details from your life menarche experience,- becoming a woman, kind of celebration, eating the swan..I change your story a bit, so the image of the woman became a little bleeding woman saint, with impossibility to touch her self and the others, to see the light, to cross the water (river), to walk on the ground..she became the saint during her (holy) period...

It is about the different kind of truths- what is visible and what is not visible, allowed-not allowed, hidden process- secret rituals,taboos/not taboos, sadness, growing up, facing your life, great expectations, listening your own body, and its process..It is also about the knowledge and awareness of the (woman) pain,- facing that pain, living through the pain, and-at the end-leaving it behind and going above all that "difficult" situation...and for me, it is very similar with the idea of living a life and facing the life with absolutely awareness...

Buba
