hey E

willing suspension of disbelief for the moment: “姑且相信“

Excuse me, what is OOOOOO?

.

"The End Must Go On"是一個難以規範類型的展演,卻有著強烈挑戰表演結構性的企圖

The End Must Go On :

A random generator of worst case scenarios, disaster genre cinema and potential best end ever, is played out as a representation game system, which due to the inadequate means available, tends to lead into misrepresentations.

6 persons perform and shift their functions within a representative game play, composed on real time.

An attempt to exhaust the imagination of disaster that is so present in nowadays culture, as much used for entertainment as for control.

A response to the delusive spaces we inhabit – how can I create an ethically transparent spectacle using illusions to fight the delusions of the times I live in?

The baby bird

When she is 10 years old

Her brother brought a baby bird home

They tried to feed the baby bird which looked hungry

Little by little, again and again

The mouth of the baby bird still kept opening

Looked like it needed more food

Then,
然後

They kept feeding it

Little by little, again and again

The skin of the baby bird's belly bulged with seeds

It still opened it's mouth,

sang some weak voice.

Looked hungry

The face of the baby bird still looked so hungry

The poor face made she and her brother couldn't stop feeding

How can they stopped supporting such a cute animal

Little by little, again and again

They fed more and more quick

It's belly became more and more big

It's voice became more and more weak

suddenly,
突然間

The open mouth of the baby bird stopped singing any weak voice.

Finally,
終於

It seemed like not hungry anymore.

The baby bird just stopped there.

Never move anymore.

Alienator-The proposal for DOLMUS project by Yenyitzu:

-The Concept of Alienator:

This performance is a temporary spectacle for the city, a excursion from Amsterdam to Haarlem. When it is end up in the park next to Dolhuys museum, it creates a specific double space there.

Alienator here describes the condition of people who alienated from the others. As outsiders for a stranger city, they sometimes are given some surface identity from local people, such as “tourist”,”immigrant”,“refugee” ...There is more than one time,as a “Asia looks” girl, people ask me “Are you a hooker?” or “How much are you?”. This experience reminds me think of in which kind of view I would be regarded as another identity.

The experience of visiting Dolhuys museum, offers me to rethink of what is normal? In the guide book of the museum said ”...We would like to encourage our visitors to think about the boundary between crazy and normal and question the representation of ‘madness’...””...Het Dolhuys wants to bridge the gap between the mental healthcare sector and general public.... ”. On the route of visiting the museum, what is mostly interested me is: audience have to open many doors, there is always something hidden behind the closet, or another room. Through the action of open a door, people can experience the extra space inside the space.

Alienator would happen in a beautiful park just next to the Dolhuys museum, there are various kind of birds, gooses, gulls....peacefully live together. It somehow shows quite poetic moment for me, since the museum tries to explore the capacity of people understanding each others. There is a small isolated island in the center of the lake in the park, which is the place I’ll perform my work. There is no road for human being walking directly to it, just the animals could swim or fly there. I would look this island as the hidden closet in Dolhuys museum. I’ll work with the distance in-between the island and normal land in the park.

-Het Dolhuy

http://www.hetdolhuys.nl

Psychiatry is a live topic. One in five Dutch people are affected by a mental problem. This does not mean we are any crazier than the rest of the world. We all know someone affected by depression, burnout or Alzheimer’s. Thanks to mental health care taking up a more prominent position in society, people with psychiatric problems have become a more noticeable presence in everyday life. Yet still not enough is known about psychiatry and people with psychiatric problems often face prejudice. We would like to encourage our visitors to think about the boundary between crazy and normal and question the representations of ‘madness’.

Experience the world of madness in the Dolhuys. Meet madmen and lunatics, or clients as they are known today, in our interactive museum and find out how the Netherlands has dealt with madness throughout the centuries.

-The technical description of Alienator:

performance date & time:
2009, May,10 (14:30-15:30-16:00)

performance itinerary:
1. From Amsterdam CS take a train to Haarlem train station with bird costume.
2. From Haarlem train station walk to the park next to Dolhuys museum, Haarlem
(if there is enough time,I’ll also walking through Nieuwe museum and come back to the park)
3. From the perk take a boat to the small isolated island in the center of the lake
4. Perform through the distance in-between small island to park
